back then in the middle ages ...

Spent over an hour at the gym this afternoon for the second time this week, which is good (I suppose), as between one thing and another hadn't been more than once a week for quite a while. And, while on the cross trainer, depressing myself by reading a book on middle age. All those 'symptoms' that not only have I reached but also have left behind. Apart from the classic definition of middle age: that time of life when we start asking, could they please turn the music down instead of could they turn the music up. And a few other developments this week that make me feel that life is passing much too fast Andi haven't even got started doing things....

At first I read that as a book on the middle ages.

I think reading about being middle aged in a gym sounds like the most depressing activity ever! Might I recommend some better books ;)

:D beat in mind that I'm almost past that stage :/ yes, maybe I should read something else while at the gym -I'm reading three or four books in very small instalments at the moment, had just finished one and that one (which I'd bought at Amazon for £0.20) was just there and it was just a means to fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way . That's my extenuating circumstance, your honour:)

Would like to go back to reading some science fiction -just finished Reamde by Stephenson which is not science-fiction at all, turned out an action thriller which was entertaining but not what I look for in that sort of book. Prefer his lay scientist monks sitting around the dinner table while the world is under threat, discussing philosophy and quantum mechanics.

Ah feeling old is annoying. I was feeling old in my twenties because of the kids, and now in my 30s I am feeling really old and wishing I had appreciated my twenties more, but hopefully in my 40s the kids will leave home and I will feel young, although I shan't look it :)
