How very convenient. This means you could be a terrorist suspect -or whatever- until further notice, if you try to film a police officer infringing your liberties, say.

People with any quota of power will always tend, for many reasons, to extend it and exercise it beyond their remit. One of the many things I like about this island is that there are many constraints and balances to those powers to prevent this happening. These seem to be slowly being eroded...

I remember being really shocked by that law before it went into effect. Hopefully this case will bring it to light and it'll get overturned. The anti-terroism laws in this country are worse than anything W. Bush tried to get through in the US I think. That and the constant CCTV everywhere is very disturbing.

I wouldn't say 'slowly' - there's been a steady, stealthy advance at least since labour got in. Look how far they've gone against freedom of speech and choice. They've created more legislation than any other single government!

I believe that the Met recently issued new guidelines to officers about this, stating that taking photos in public is NOT an offence (even if it is of a police officer).

The passing of the principle you outline into law is not new news (although I feel it is wrong).

I guess terrorists will just have to employ court artists to do quick sketches of policemen instead
