As long as they're not part of your religion or national dress, yes. There's a Scottish fella goes to football matches in full Jacobite dress, with plaid, sporran & linen shirt, with a skein dhu, dirk & claymore, and the coppers can't touch him as long as he doesn't brandish them & cause people distress, thus making them offensive weapons.

Well, it looked a bit heavy to be a plastic replica. I suppose the fact that carrying it was a delicate looking and, yes, clearly English young woman might not generate the same reaction as a big threatening -looking man would.

I think now that it must have been a theatre prop. Looked heavy and real enough, but a sword in a sheath, you are not really seeing it...

She looked lovely. I would have married her straight away except that she was about 20 yo so she wouldn't marry me, and ...well, she had a sword.... :D
