guitar and weddings. - Echoes of Flavio's Ghost Dreaming
guitar and weddings.
People do forget, I play weddings. It's not rock, it's not goth and most certainly it is not industrial or anything like that, just one nylon-strung classical guitar  and it is most certainly not appropriate for the reception but damn it, what I do is just, just  perfect for the ceremony. But, hey, you may have other ideas. And I might even be otherwise  busy at the time.

Should I find myself walking down the aisle, I can't think of anyone I would rather have playing than you. Classical guitar is vastly underrated, sadly.

I can't get out of my head the image of you walking around the local supermarket with Flavius_m being wheeled in a shopping trolley behind you.

It would likely make it a far more pleasant experience! *g*

It sounds lovely. I've sat through too many agonisingly bad organ/keyboard accompanied ceremonies!

If I were to get married I would totally hire you. But I don't see it happening :/

I now find myself being asked to DJ at weddings when I would rather be asked to play piano at them!

just one nylon string classical guitar

er, mine's got six. *thinks - so that's why it's so difficult*

(sorry, flippant, I kno)

We should combine resources - I'm about to do similar with solo flute (or perhaps duo if required), aiming at small ceremonies where not much music is needed but something live is wanted. Any tips / advice? How & where do you advertise?

Business cards, handed out to adoring fans at other gigs. Can't recommend this enough, as nothing sells yourself like yourself :) Other than that the best marketing I've had for wedding gigs is word-of-mouth from friends and colleagues. Hmm, times have moved on - facebook mayhaps?
