LH2000s can be reflashed to support direct playback from USB drives/sticks, if you haven't already done so...

Ooh, tell me more... I didn't know this, no.

Eeeek! The information is gone, I wish I'd copied it instead of linking to it!

You need firmware 3.15 from memory, can then enter service mode and enable some functions. Some firmwares can be downgraded. I MIGHT still have the firmware on my computer, but I think I erased the flash drive I'd used to do the hack and crucially don't have a note of the service menu.

It was at lgusb.wikispaces.com but appears to have been taken down :(

If you have 3.15 firmware:

Hold down OK on TV and OK on remote for six seconds.
Enter 0000
Goto TOOLOPTION3 (Options are numbered 0, 1, 2 - you want 2)
Goto EMF (JPEG/MP3) - set to 1 (Right arrow)
Goto DiVX - set to HD

Then press EXIT

This should allow FAT-formatted USB media to show, and a USB option under menu.

You can then upgrade to a later firmware, which improves the playback and digital TV performance (sound/speed of channel selection).

If you have firmware > 3.24 or < 3.48, you can downgrade. 3.48 apparently has a software lock. The settings are persistent throughout firmware updates once enabled.

I have a 32LH2000, and the support is no worse than my PS3's media capabilities. It's a bit crude in terms of navigation and reboots on one folder for some reason, so I avoid that folder.

Thanks! Although the telly now seems to have been sold, but I will have a look at this.

My memory agrees with this with the warning don't change ANYTHING else in there.

I did me 26LH2000 some months ago though I also recal I had to have an extra step in the downgrade/upgrade/final version path.

Only link I left in my bookmarks is
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1206458&page=16

The firmware files are about 20Mb each I've got 3.15 3.55 and 3.63 stored offline if you can't find copies online.
( looks like I've also got 3.66 and 3.67, not sure why I didn't use them at the time, I think maybe they only changed a couple of the Russian settings so didn't bother )

When doing the firmware upgrade you take usb-stick, create folder on stick called LG_DTV and put the firmware you want in there.

Looks like my memory wasn't so bad and I must have upgraded from 3.48 to 3.55 then down to 3.15, to change the settings needed nfor USB, then back up to 3.55 and finally onto 3.63.
