My Xmas and NYE

And so that was Christmas. Different this time: my sister travelled from Venezuela where she (still?) lives, to Madrid to be with her son who moved there a few months ago and, as I'd mentioned before, she wanted me to spend Christmas with them. So I went.

I was expecting it to be more difficult than it ended up being in practical terms: five of us (my sister, her son and his girlfriend, her sister, myself) crammed in a 'two-bedroom flat' that was quite a bit smaller than my tiny studio flat in London. As it was, it all went well and we didn't get on each others' toes at all. It was good to spend some time with my sister who, living so far away I very seldom see in person.

There wasn't much touristing: we did go to Museo Del Prado and on Boxing Day we went to Segovia. Nothing much more -but then I went to see my sister and not so much to see the sights.

On NYE I went to a friend's house gathering/drinks, then to Tarantella at the Albany and finally to the Slimelight. Had a very good time at all three, saw some peeps I hadn't seen for a long time, in a couple of cases quite a few years -all was good.

Next week is going to be difficult when I have to start getting up before 6 am instead of 10....

Happy New Year to all of you!
